Si bien con la crisis, muchas empresas suprimieron este evento, ahora ha vuelto con más fuerza que nunca.

Christmas is a time of year filled with culinary gatherings with friends, family, and even colleagues. In fact, this event has become a must-do for any organization. While the financial crisis caused many companies to cancel this event, it has come back stronger than ever.

Furthermore, this event is held at an ideal time to take stock of the past year and seek motivation for the upcoming year, as well as to improve personal relationships and the work environment by gathering employees and managers in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Most business dinners or lunches are held in December, so it’s important to start planning this event as soon as possible so you don’t get caught off guard. It’s important to choose the venue or space where the event will be held, the entertainment options, and, of course, a gastronomic offering that will delight any palate.

Keep in mind that this might be one of your company’s most important events of the year, so it’s advisable to break away from the routine, avoiding the typical company dinner with boring after-dinner conversation and opting for a more original and dynamic event, incorporating activities and a few surprises.

  • Spaces with different possibilities, multifunctional rooms that can be adapted, decorated, and customized to the client’s needs.
  • Gastronomic offer: basically, all hotels have their own kitchens or work with reliable caterers.
  • Experience in event planning. Most hotels have a MICE or an event department that will help you organize your event to perfection.

Hotel Meridional is a boutique hotel located on the beachfront in Guardamar del Segura. You can celebrate your event at El Jardín restaurant, at Ñam restaurant (recommended by the Repsol Guide 2024 and 2025), or in our event rooms if you prefer a more intimate or private experience.     • Poularde cannelloni, truffle and foie

    • Grilled sea bass, marinade and smoked Burrata
    • Charcoal grilled Cockerel with its own juices and Pak Choi

Gourmet. 55€/person

    • Charcoal roasted Turbot, all i pebre (garlic and paprika sauce) and smoked eel
    • Grilled Iberian pork, sweet potato and truffle

All menus include drinks: water, beer, soft drinks, house wines (red and white) and coffee.

Once we’ve chosen the event venue and the menu, we dive right into original ideas for your company dinner.

We can start the evening with a show to liven up the atmosphere. Depending on your budget, we suggest a magic show, music, a stand-up comedy, a circus act, or even a fire show. For an original idea, you can hire an actor to pose as a waiter and spontaneously create an unexpected and fun situation like a hidden camera prank style.

Once dinner is over, we can continue with a series of group games. There are countless games that can transform a boring after-dinner conversation into a fun experience. In this case, it would be a good idea to prepare a gift/s for the winner(s) of the game.

We have made a small selection of these games ideal for groups:

  • Gymkhana: Organize your colleagues into groups and propose different tests of skill, agility, memory, etc.
  • Liar Liar: Each person must make 3 statements, 2 of which are lies and 1 is true. The person who gets more true statements right wins the game.
  • Guess the baby: A week before the event, ask your colleagues to mail a photo of themselves as a baby or as a toddler. After dinner, the images will be shown to the rest and they will try to guess who each image belongs to.
  • The legendary Secret Santa, with an update, organize it a couple of weeks beforehand and hold a random draw online. This way, on the day of the dinner, you can exchange gifts. This game also allows for a twist, making it more original. People buy a gift without knowing who they’re giving it to. On the day of the dinner, all the gifts are opened and displayed. Papers with names are drawn, and people can choose the gift they like best in order. In this case, the last name drawn gets the gift no one wants.
  • Taboo Words: Throughout the night, certain words are banned from use. If you activate the game during the boss’s usual speech and ban words like the company name, you’ll put your boss on the spot and guarantee a few laughs.

Another option to make your event an original and fun occasion, and one that’s also trendy, is to set up a photo booth so all your colleagues can take fun photos that will surely be circulated around the company!

Even though it is a bit démodé, organize a flash mob, where at some point during the night a couple of colleagues start a choreography that other colleagues join in on. Fun and laughter are guaranteed!
