In Guardamar you will be pleasantly surprised by the presence of many natural resources as well as the life of a modern and cosmopolitan city which has succeeded, throughout the years, in maintaining and promoting its traditional culture.
Amongst the natural sites to be seen make sure to discover its pine forest with its dunes, which have been declared highly protected Natural Parks because of their singularity, its 11 kms of beaches, the Segura river mouth or the salt lakes in La Mata or Torrevieja, perfect spots for birdwatching. Keep in mind these are only some of the most renowned natural places around Guardamar… there are many more!
Guardamar’s highlight is undoubtedly its 11-km long beach line. 8 beaches, all with different characteristics and services, three of them benefitting from the well-known blue flag.
From North to South, you will discover the Playa Dels Tossal located on the north shore of the Segura river; the playa Dels Vivers being located on the south shore. Further away you will find La Babilonia beach, Del Centre beach, La Roqueta beach (accessible for wheelchairs), Moncayo Beach, Del Camp Beach and Les Ortigues Beach.
If you are more keen on cultural visits you will be enchanted to discover the rich historical heritage of Guardamar. The Iberian, Phoenician, Islamic, Roman cultures and the Middle-Age legacy can be seen in sites such as the Cabezo Lucero, the Rabita Califal or even in the Guardamar castle site.
